Pilates Reformer
The Pilates Reformer sounds scary, but is actually a wonderful piece of equipment. It is one of the most popular pieces of equipment used in Pilates. It works off of springs and their tension, just like most Pilates equipment.
This piece of equipment is very versatile because it offers the user many different exercises and positions to do them in. Exercises can be done on the Pilates Reformer kneeling, sitting, lying down, or standing on the carriage. The carriage slides back and forth according to the pushing or pulling of the exerciser.
While on the Pilates Reformer, you should be working out many parts of your body. You are pulling on the straps with hands or feet, and trying to get the carriage to move. Since you are resting on the carriage, you are working against the springs of the machine combined with your own weight.
